Electrochemical Gas Sensors

Giner utilizes thick- and thin-film technologies in combination with appropriate electrode materials, and careful control of electrode potentials, to fabricate chemical-specific gas sensors. We have developed gas sensors for carbon monoxide (CO), nitrogen oxides (NO_x), carbon dioxide (CO₂), hydrogen (H₂), hydrogen sulfide (H₂S), hydrochloric acid (HCl), sulfur dioxide (SO₂), oxygen (O₂), oxone (O₃), hydrazines and ethylene (ethene or H₂CCH_2.) The miniature sensors afford extraordinary portability and utility while providing detection limits in the ppm and ppb levels, depending on the specific gas being sensed.
