Short- and Long-Duration Energy Storage

Energy storage is the accumulation of potential energy that can be subsequently drawn upon to perform some useful (kinetic or electrical) operation. A number of different types of energy storage devices (capacitors, lithium batteries, regenerative fuel cells) are under development at Giner, Inc. and Giner Electrochemical Systems, LLC. The energy that is stored can be delivered over time periods that range from fractions of a second (capacitors) to hours (regenerative fuel cells).
